Sunny Boy Smart Energy US-50
The Sunny Boy Smart Energy US-50 is an SMA family of single-phase, transformerless hybrid inverters with a battery connection, sold as the SBSE3.8, 4.8, 5.8, 7.7, 9.6 and 11.5-US-50 models. The four smaller models have 3 PV inputs and the 9.6 and 11.5 models have 4 PV inputs. The unit can work as a hybrid inverter, a PV-only inverter or a battery inverter. It can also take AC from other PV inverters on site and use it to charge the battery. SMA Backup Secure is a manual backup function: during a grid outage it powers selected loads from the battery and PV through a socket connected to the inverter. From firmware 3.08.11.R the inverter supports System Manager functionality. A qualified person can update the firmware through the SMA 360° app, either before configuration or during operation. The firmware can also be updated manually through the user interface. The inverter is for stationary indoor or outdoor installation only. It must be used only with PV modules and cables approved under local electrical standards and the National Electrical Code.
