The SMA Data Manager M (EDMM) is a data logger that reports to the ennexOS portal, which is the successor of Sunny Portal. Each Data Manager M handles up to 50 devices. Bigger systems use several units, with one set as master and the others as slaves, and the total system power may not exceed 2.5 MVA; above that a Data Manager L must be the master. Only one measuring device is supported at the point of interconnection. That energy meter must be assigned to the master unit, and only the master can do control. It talks to SMA devices over Speedwire, to RS485 devices, and to Modbus devices such as the Sunny Tripower CORE2 using the SunSpec Modbus profile with Unit ID 1. From firmware 2.5.9.R, the EDMM-20 can monitor up to 20 SMA eChargers over Modbus TCP, but it cannot control them. It supports Q(U) reactive power control, power setpoints sent as pulse signals, a WAGO 750 I/O system, and firmware updates of connected SMA products. The Sunny SensorBox, Windy Boy, Hydro Boy and SolTrk are not supported. Function button: hold 5 to 10 seconds to restart, 10 to 15 seconds to reset the admin account, and 15 to 20 seconds to restore factory settings, which erases all data. If the user interface shows no data, the real-time clock buffer capacitor may have discharged after a long time without power, so check that the unit can reach an internet time server.
<!-- review notes
- sentence 6: support check: partial - Q(U), pulse signals and firmware updates are covered; WAGO 750 I/O system is only listed as a document validity, support implied.
