The Huawei SmartLogger is a Huawei monitoring data logger. It collects data from SUN2000 string inverters and can pass that data on to a PC or to network management software. Inverters connect to it over RS485. When there are several inverters, they are wired in a daisy chain, and the chain should stay within 1000 m from the last inverter to the logger. Every inverter on an RS485 route needs its own unique Modbus RTU address inside the range set on the SmartLogger. It also needs the same baud rate as the logger, or communication fails. You can view inverter energy yield, alarms and running status through the SmartLogger or its embedded WebUI. It can also be used to disable AFCI on the inverter. The SmartLogger can push CSV reports over FTP to third-party platforms such as PowerTrack. Use file Format 2 or higher, because Format 1 leaves out the logger's own data and the cumulative energy values. Huawei names fiber plus RS485 or PLC networking as SmartLogger networking scenarios. When you contact Huawei support, have the SmartLogger model and firmware version ready.

uses_protocol

c2 drafted · lead RS-485

SUN2000 inverters connect to the SmartLogger over RS485, in daisy chains for multiple inverters.

c3 verified · fact Modbus RTU

Inverter RS485 protocol set to MODBUS RTU. Addresses must sit inside the SmartLogger's configured range with no duplicates, and the baud rate must match the SmartLogger.

c4 drafted · lead FTP push

The SmartLogger can push CSV data reports by FTP to a third-party monitoring platform.

c5 drafted · lead Fiber optic link

Optical fiber plus RS485/PLC is named as an example SmartLogger networking scenario.

review note: support check: partial - The passage names Optical Fiber + RS485/PLC Networking as an example scenario, but it does not clearly say the SmartLogger uses a fiber optic link protocol.

c6 drafted · lead Power line communication

RS485/PLC networking is named as an example SmartLogger networking scenario.

review note: support check: partial - RS485/PLC networking is named as an example scenario, but the passage does not explicitly say the SmartLogger uses power line communication.
