Clearing a ventilation blockage is a corrective step for an inverter that trips on over-temperature protection (TempOver). The alarm means the ambient or internal temperature is too high. Check whether the air inlet or the cooling fan is blocked. Also confirm that the outside temperature is within the inverter's rated operating range and that the installation location is suitable. After you clear the blockage, watch the inverter for 30 minutes to see if the alarm clears by itself. If it does not, contact the manufacturer's after-sales service. To keep air moving, leave clear space around the inverter, especially at the air intake side and above the unit. If the inverter sits in a vault or closet, provide outside ventilation. If the ambient air is outside the normal range, the inverter will reduce its power on its own or may shut down to protect itself. As preventive maintenance, clean inverter filters and test the ventilation system twice a year, and replace the filters on a set schedule. Poor ventilation can void an inverter's warranty, so blocked airflow is also a warranty risk.
