IEEE 2030.5
IEEE 2030.5, also called SEP2, is an application-layer protocol for monitoring and controlling distributed energy resource devices. It defines how application messages are exchanged, the exact messages including error messages, and the security features that protect those messages. The CPS SCH350KTL-DO/US-800 string inverter lists IEEE 2030.5 among its certifications and standards, alongside IEEE 1547-2018 and UL 1741-SA/SB. The Generac PWRmicro also lists IEEE 2030.5 among its certifications.
<!-- review notes
- sentence 1: support check: partial - Passage says it supports monitoring and control of DER devices, but doesn't call it SEP2 as an application-layer protocol explicitly (SEP2 appears in the heading; 'application-layer' is not stated). -->
