VDE
VDE is a German standards body that issues application rules for connecting generators and storage to the grid, including VDE-AR-N 4105 and VDE-AR-N 4110. Inverter manuals list VDE-AR-N 4105 as a selectable country grid code, and changing that setting is protected by SMA Grid Guard on some devices. Older inverters also offer grid settings based on VDE 0126 for Germany. VDE-AR-E 2510-50 is a strict German safety standard for stationary lithium battery storage in homes and small buildings. SMA battery inverter manuals have a section on the requirements of VDE Application Guide 2510-2.

- sentence 4: support check: partial - Passage says strict German safety standard for small houses/residential BESS with lithium batteries, but does not say 'small buildings' exactly; it's close, though 'stationary' is stated; mostly supported with minor paraphrase.
- sentence 1: review: partial - The passages show VDE-AR-N 4105 and 4110 as grid codes and practice codes, but they never say VDE is a German standards body or that it issues rules for connecting generators and storage. -->
