Oscilloscope
An oscilloscope is an instrument that measures voltage and shows it visually as a waveform. On an AC sine wave it shows the full peak-to-peak size of the waveform, which is twice the peak value. For residential voltage, the peak value given is 165 Vac. Technicians can also use it to look at serial communication traffic. One inverter communication manual shows a Modbus RTU message captured on an oscilloscope.

- sentence 4: support check: partial - Passages only show a figure/table caption of a Modbus RTU message on an oscilloscope; the claim that technicians use it generally for serial traffic and the 'inverter communication manual' context are not stated. -->
