Tesla Energy

Tesla Energy is the energy products arm of Tesla, Inc. It makes battery energy storage systems and the Tesla System Controller, and it also supports photovoltaic systems. Its utility-scale and commercial storage lineup includes Megapack 2, Megapack 2 XL and Powerhub, and each has its own design, installation, and operation and maintenance manuals. Tesla publishes a SCADA Design Manual and Controls and Communications Manuals for utility-scale and C&I projects. It also publishes a DNP3 device profile for the Tesla System Controller and an approved vendor list for industrial energy equipment. Reference documents, application notes and the Megapack 2 Compliance Packet are available on the Tesla Partner Portal. Tesla says Megapack meets strict global safety standards for energy storage and complies with the grid codes of major markets. Some controls needed for regional requirements are offered only in the regions that need them. Megapack systems are commissioned and serviced by Tesla field service technicians, who are Tesla employees or trained, Tesla-approved contractors. A Tesla project engineer reviews the site design. Tesla recommends recycling its energy products at end of life, either by returning them to Tesla or by sending them to another suitable facility.
