SolarPower Europe is a member-led solar industry association based in Brussels, Belgium. Its stated aim is for solar to generate more energy than any other source by 2030. It publishes the O&M Best Practice Guidelines. The fifth edition (Version 5.0) came out in December 2021 and builds on the fourth edition from 2019. The guidelines sort O&M requirements into minimum requirements, best practices and recommendations. They cover health, safety, security and environment, preventive and corrective maintenance, spare parts, revamping and repowering, and monitoring. The guidelines mainly address utility-scale plants above 1 MW, with a separate chapter on rooftop O&M. They give high-level requirements that can be applied worldwide but leave out national legal requirements. The guidelines are written by its Lifecycle Quality Workstream, which also produces EPC, Asset Management and Lifecycle Quality Guidelines. SolarPower Europe created and runs the Solar Best Practices Mark, a voluntary self-certification scheme with an interactive checklist and a Monitoring Checklist. It has worked with partners on regional editions, such as a South African edition of the O&M guidelines produced with SAPVIA. IEA PVPS lists SolarPower Europe's O&M guidelines as the main O&M reference for Europe, and SolarPower Europe is a member of IEA PVPS.
