FM Global

FM Global publishes Property Loss Prevention Data Sheets, which give loss-prevention guidance that applies to solar PV installations. Its Data Sheet 1-15 covers roof-mounted solar photovoltaic panels, and the edition cited was issued in 2024. Its Data Sheet 7-106 covers ground-mounted solar photovoltaic power, also in a 2024 edition. The data sheets are offered through the research and resources section of the FM Global website. The IEA PVPS report on extreme weather impacts on PV systems cites both data sheets as references for designing systems that hold up to severe weather.
