California Energy Commission

CEC is the abbreviation for the California Energy Commission, which equipment manuals refer to when they talk about California approval of solar equipment. The CEC reviews and approves inverters and publishes lists of approved Grid Support PV Inverters and approved Battery Inverters. A product can be listed under the manufacturer's legal name instead of its brand: Solis models appear under Ginlong Technologies Co., Ltd. The downloadable Excel version of the list is easier to search.
