This method is a review of how a capacity test or energy model was done. It starts by checking whether a spectral correction was applied. Use spectral irradiance measurements or validated spectral model inputs where they exist. Also use spectral response data for the specific module technology, because the same sky spectrum gives different effective irradiance for different module designs. The method detects spectral effect yield losses. These are mismatches between the incoming spectrum, the reference spectrum and the module's spectral response, and they can bias capacity tests and shift energy yield. A broadband irradiance sensor alone can overstate the irradiance the cells actually use. For tandem devices, spectral effects also interact with current matching, luminescent coupling and temperature coefficients.
